To celebrate Our Saviour's birth,
    Our cheerful songs to heaven we'll raise,
In grateful strains of pious mirth,
    O sing our great Redeemer's praise.

His wondrous and unbounded love
    Is far beyond conception great,
Then let our cheerful accents move,
    With angels that around him wait.

Glory to God and peace to men,
    Shall ever be our constant theme ;
Whilst heaven and earth echo again,
    And both a single concert seem.
