1. See they come, a glorious army,
Down the bright celestial road,
Shouts seraphic now alarm me,
Fill my soul with love abroad ;
Lo ! ten thousand,
All proclaim the new-born God.

2. 'Twas for us he left the grandeur
Of the Heaven of Heaven's above ;
Well might angels, lost in wonder,
Celebrate his boundless love !
Let us praise him,
May we ne'er ungrateful prove.

3. Hark ! the eternal worlds resound!
With the high seraphic strains ;
Millions now the throne surrounding
Praise him on the ethereal plains ;
Flaming seraphs
Shout the true Messiah reigns.

4. On the bright celestial regions,
When life's changing scenes are o'er
May we with cherubic legions,
Praise thee on the heavenly shore;
Great Redeemer,
Grant us this, we ask no more.
