Hail, hail the day on which the Lord
    Of glory came on earth;
Let's celebrate with one accord,
    Our great Redeemer's birth.

Glory to God was sung on high,
    And shepherds heard the same,
The chorus echoed through the sky,
    The praises of his name.

Then let us too our voices raise,
    And sing with joyous mirth,
A song of praise in lofty strains,
    At our Redeemer's birth.

So when on earth he comes again,
    May this by all be heard;
Come faithful servants reap the joys,
    Which Iíve for you prepared.
