Beauteous plant of high renown,
Rising from a barren soil,
Foliage fair thy bows shall crown,
Richer fruitage pendant smile.

Deep thy roots shall pierce below,
High thy spreading branches rise,
Fragrant, bright, thy blossom blows,
Wafting incense to the skies.

Lo ! see the verdant leaves,
Soft their healing dews distil;
Earth the precious balm receives,
Life and joy the nations fill.
