Dedication
This little book of Christmas Carols is put forth as a help to those who, at this blessed season, desire to sing the praise and glory of the Incarnation of God. Nos. I to 20, and No. 28, are suitable "for use in the Lord's House upon the 'feasting' day;" the remainder are for the Home Circle, &c.
The Editor thanks the Rev. R. R. Chope for permission to use Carols Nos. 2, 9, 13, and 16, of which he owns the copyright ; the Ven. Archdeacon Farrar for the words of No. 17; the Rev. S. Childs Clarke for those of Nos. 12, 18, and 24; and Messrs. Cassell & Co. for the words of Nos. 21 and 22, by Miss Goddard.
" While we adore His boundless grace,
And pious joy and mirth take place
Of sorrow, grief, and pain,
Give glory to our GOD on high,
And not among the general joy
Forget good-will to men."
