1. Wrapt in the silence of the night
Lay all the eastern world,
Lay all the eastern world,
When bursting glorious heavenly light,
When bursting glorious heavenly light,
The wondrous scene unfurled,
The wondrous scene unfurled,
The wondrous scene unfurled.
2. Arise, and see what glorious things
The Lord for us hath done:
His holy Angels tidings bring
Of His Beloved Son.
3. Behold, the Lamb of God is come,
To take our sins away:
God gave to us His only Son
Upon This blessed day.
4. With joy the chorus we'll repeat,
"Glory to God on high!"
Goodwill and peace are now complete,
For Christ is born today.
