When to thee our Saviour Christ
Came, full fain to be baptiz’d,
Seal’d to be a Victim blest,
Then received we his behest,-—
In baptismal flood that we
Might be cleans’d, and pure as he.
    Saintly teacher, Herald-preacher,
Prithee be our guide
Over Jordan’s tide.
