Welcome, welcome happy morn,
    Heaven's predicted hour,
When to rescue man forlorn,
    God displayed his power.

The she herds now their flocks surround,
    And guard their fleecy numbers,
While night diffuses round,
    Their calm and peaceful slumbers.

            While the cherubic armies vie,
            Shouting in the distant sky,
Glory be to God on high,
            In harmonious melody.
