1. To-day, Maiden Mary, foretold
by the Seer,
Hath childed an Infant, the which hath no peer:
Earth
lendeth the cavern to Him who on high
Abideth in light where to
none may draw nigh.
2. While Angels with herdmen are
chanting his birth,
"To God be the Glory, and Peace upon
earth,"
Lo! at the same season, from country afar,
Three
Easterlings follow the beams of a Star.
3. For why, for us mortals on
Christen-mas morn,
At Bethlehem-Judah, this Baby was born,
The
Son of the Father, the All-holy One,
God, blessed for ever, or
time was begun.
