To us a child is born from heaven,
To us a child of God is given,
And the Gentiles in him shall trust,
And of his glory make their boast

His name the Wonderful shall be,
And his wonders all flesh shall see,
He is the Counsellor of truth and grace,
Who leads in the paths of righteousness.

He is the Prince of Peace on David's throne,
And nations yet unborn shall own
His gracious and his sovereign sway,
Glad of his honour to obey.

Justice and judgment he maintains,
To everlasting ages reigns,
And his blest empire shall increase,
Till time with all its moments cease.
