1. Take me in Thine Arms and bless me,
Gentle Jesus, ere I sleep;
Through this day Thine eye has watched me,
Now my soul and body keep.

2. As I kneel in prayer before Thee,
Pardon all my grievous sins,
Nail them to Thy Cross, O Jesus,
Ere another day begins.

3. For the past, O God, forgive me,
In the present be Thou near;
And through all the veiled future
Guide me ever, Saviour dear.

4. Through the darksome valley lead me,
And be with the friends I love, --
Whilst on earth we live together
Fit us for the rest above.
