See, see they come a glorious army
Down the bright celestial road,
Shout seraphic now alarm me,
Fill my soul with love abroad 1
        Lo ten thousand;
    All proclaim the new-born God,

Peace, good-will to man are given,
Hosts triumph shout awhile,
The son of man is come from heaven,
Earth receive the promised child;
        His appearance,
    Humble, lowly, meek and mild.

Hail Messiah bring thy kingdom,
Glory of the latter day,
Legions to thy honour bring them,
Legions o'er the trackless way;
        With thy sceptre,
    All the astonish’d nations sway.
