Carol 95, Rev. Charles Lewis Hutchins, Carols Old and Carols New
(Boston: Parish Choir, 1916)

1. Oh, sing a merry carol,
A carol Christian sing;
For Christ this day in Bethlehem,
Was born the Saviour King!
While angels chant the joyful song,
Let all their voices raise,
And still with cheerful strain prolong
The heav’nly song of praise.

2. Oh, sing a merry carol,
Let all the world rejoice,
That Christ has come to dwell on earth
Then shout with cheerful voice!
Glory to God the Heav’nly King,
Who to the earth brings peace,
Good will to men henceforth the song,
That never more shall cease.

3. Oh, sing a merry carol,
For our redemption nigh,
The Lord of Life has come to reign,
Descending from the sky;
Oh, sing the merry carol then,
And sing it joyfully,
To celebrate this glorious day
Of Christ’s nativity.
