Now begin the blissful theme,
Now Jehovah's birth proclaim,
Join the minstrel choirs that bring,
Tidings of a new-born King:
Glorious tidings lead the van,
Tidings of a new-born King;
Free salvation is the rear,
Sure redemption is the cheer.

Chorus:
Angels' trumps the message bring,
Welcome down the new-born King.

Humble shepherds on the plains,
Sudden heard melodious strains,
Ushering from unbounded space,
Joyful news to fallen race;
Go to Bethlehem they said,
In a manger, there he's laid,
There behold his mean abode,
Hail him your incarnate God. Chorus.

See the glorious day return,
Every heart with transport burn,
Every voice be lifted high,
Join the chorus of the sky;
All that vital breath enjoy,
Now your utmost skill employ,
Sing, rejoice, rejoice and sing,
Hail, salute the new-born King. Chorus
