1. Mark'd ye the star whose influence mild,
Shed radiance on the Heav'n-born Child?
Heard ye the strain from yonder sky,
Heard ye the strain from yonder sky,
Rais'd by those minstrels from on high?
Raised by those minstrels from on high?
2. Heard ye a voice seraphic sweet
Rise shepherds and your Saviour greet;
To Bethle'em haste and there you'll find,
A soothing balm for heavy mind.
3. Come let us join this heav'nly mirth
Now the Messiah's come on earth;
That all mankind may see and know,
What love on us He did bestow.
4. He comes our sinful race to bless
With joy and peace and happiness;
Then let us all with one accord,
Sing Hallelujah to the Lord.
