1. Behold a branch hath flowered
Upon an ancient tree,
By prophets long foretold us,
A holy mystery

Its Rose hath blossomed bright
Amid the snow of Winter,
All in the dark midnight!

2. That little fragrant flower
Doth blossom in our sight;
Its clear and lovely shining
Doth make our darkness light.

True Man and God is He
Who saves us from our sorrow
Through all eternity.
