He comes to rescue ruin'd man,
To snatch from death his helpless prey,
He comes to bring us life again, -
He comes to bear our guilt away.
Messiah comes, the heralds cry,
Through the creation's ample round,
Ye nations shout aloud for joy,
The God, the Man with men is found.
Amazing truth the Eternal One,
Who gave the dayspring to the morn,
Jehovah's everlasting Son,
This day in Judah’s land is born.
