Hail, source of living light divine,
By whom the Prophets wrote and spoke
On me with hallowed lustre shine,
    Thy brightness humbly I envoke.

Hail happy hour, supremely blest
That brought to earth's still favoured coast,
From heaven the most illustrious guest,
    Of all Jehovah's shining host.

Transcending work of power supreme,
    Bright offspring of Omnipotence,
My soul adores this sacred name,
Who gives existence, time, and sense.
