1. Hail! hail! hail! this happy joyous morn!
Mortals, dispel all gloom and gladness,
This is the day for joy and sadness,
For Christ, the Prince of Peace, is born
In Bethlehem this joyful morn.

Chorus:
Shout aloud the wondrous story,
Glory in the highest, glory;
Christ, our Saviour, Priest, and King
Come eternal life to bring.

2. Hail! hail! hail! this happy joyous morn!
Mortals, break forth with joy and singing,
Set all the joyful bells to ringing,
The praises of our King proclaim,
Shout hallelujah to His name. Chorus

3. Hail! hail! hail! this happy joyous morn!
Strike all your harps, ye hosts of heaven,
Hosanna to our King be given;
Zion, arise! thy light is come,
Arise! prepare thy King a throne. Chorus
