1. Hail, gentle Jesus,
On Mary’s breast;
Hail to you, holy angels,
Lulling your Lord to rest.

Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus;
Hail Gentle Jesus.

2. Hail, Mother Mary,
Maid undefiled;
With a sweet murmur soothing
Jesus, thy Holy Child. Refrain

3. Hail, Son of Mary,
Verily Thou art Man;
Yet with the Father Thou wert
Long ere the Heavens began. Refrain

4. Hail, King of Angels;
Verily Thou art God;
Hiding Thy wondrous glory,
In this poor flesh and blood. Refrain

5. Hail, simple shepherds,
Lying upon the cold earth;
Warm’d by the breath of angels
Singing of Jesus’ birth. Refrain

6. Hail, little manger,
Throne of the King of Kings,
Song of Thy endless glory,
Through the wide heaven rings. Refrain
