Great is our Lord Jesu's name Emmanuel!
All the world hath heard the same

This day first beheld His face,

Through the Virgin Mary's grace
At Bethlehem.

Virgo Deum genutu
Sic divina volumit clementia,

Christus natus hodie;

Maiden Mother of our Lord,
So His mercy's sovereign word ordained it.

Christ is born to us this day,
