Christians Rejoice

Words and Music: English Traditional From An Old MS.

Source: Ralph Dunstan, The Cornish Song Book (London: Reid Bros., Ltd., 1929), p. 110-11.

1. Christians, rejoice, and hail the day!
To God your hymns and homage pay,
    And with the Angels vie.
"Good will to men and peace on earth (repeat)
Was sung at our Redeemer's birth,
    Glory, Glory to God on high.

2. Behold! His star, in Eastern sky,
Was sent to show Wise Men the way
    To where the Saviour lay.
They offer'd presents, and adored  (repeat)
Their Infant Saviour and the Lord;
    Glory, Glory to God on high.

3. Come let us sound His praise abroad,
And sing to our Incarnate God.
    Who in a manger lay.
The shining host His praise proclaim, (repeat)
Come let us bless His holy name;
    Glory, Glory to God on high.
