His peace bestowing."

2. Heaven's King eternal
On the straw is lying
Mule and ox stand near Him
From the cold He's crying
Spreading hay to warm Him
Ox o'ern Jesus Hovers
But the mule is wicked
He the Babe uncovers,

3. Mary weeps in pity
For suff'ring darling
Wishing for protection
From the cold winds howling
"Tend'rest little infant Savior,
O my Jesus,
All my love forever
Sweetest son so precious."
