Adeste Fideles Translations

1. Approach, ye faithful, come with exultation,
Come ye, in Bethlehem behold the Lord:
The Lord of angels born for our salvation.
    O come, ye faithful, come with glad accord,
    With adoration come before the Lord !

2. Sing Hallelujah, let the court of heaven
Ring with the angel chorus — “ Praise the Lord;
To God be glory in the highest given.”
    O come, ye faithful, come with glad accord,
    With adoration come before the Lord!

3. Therefore, O Jesus, unto Thee be glory,
For Thou wert born this day, Incarnate Word !
Word of the Eternal Father, we adore Thee :
    O come, ye faithful, come with glad accord,
    With adoration come before the Lord !

Note:

First publication was by Jane E. Leeson, Christian Child's Book (1848), together with Hymn #12, "Approach, ye faithful, and with glad accord."
