Carol 609, Rev. Charles Lewis Hutchins, Carols Old and Carols New (Boston: Parish Choir, 1916)

All children are on Christmas Eve,
As busy as can be;
they hand their little stockings up
For Santa Claus to see.

How very careful they must be
To have them stout and strong;
For Santa has many a toy,
To please this merry throng.

Hush! Hark! I hear the tiny reindeer
Come pattering on the snow;
Now quickly get you into bed,
Or else away they’ll go.
