Editor's Note: A literal translation can be found on Professor Gilbert Rappaport's Chopin page at the University of Texas at Austin. He writes that "this traditional and well-known Christmas carol (koleda) is used by Chopin in the middle section of his Scherzo #1 in B minor, op. 20."
