Meter: 8, 8

This edition contains 10 texts & 3 tunes, as compared to the 11 tunes in the 1609 edition. Many of the 1609 texts are reproduced or referenced in Philipp Wackernagel's Das deutsche Kirchenlied, Vol. 1, (Leipzig: Druct und Berlag von B. G. Leubner, 1864), #309-318, pp. 198-202. Some of the same tunes and texts are in this 1628 edition as well. See: Puer Natus in Bethlehem-Wackernagel.

Seven of the texts are Latin & German; three of the texts are Latin only. There are five new texts in this volume.

Because I am unfamiliar with the German language, and of German typography four centuries ago, I am reluctant to attempt to transcribe the verses in this work. Hopefully those who are better qualified to do so will step forward.
