Superintendent. — And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round them:

School. — And they were sore afraid.

Supt. — And the angel said unto them.

School. — Fear not; for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

Supt. — For unto you is born this day, in the city of David, a Saviour.

School. — Which is Christ, the Lord.

Supt. — And this shall be a sign unto you;

School. — Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

Supt. — And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying,

School. — Glory to God in the Highest, and on earth peace, good will towards men.

Supt. — Now, when Jesus was born in Bethlehem, of Judea, in the days of Herod, the King, behold, there came wise men from the East to Jerusalem,

School. — Saying: Where is he that is born King of the Jews, for we have seen his star in the East, and we come to worship him.

Supt. — When Herod, the King, had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, in Bethlehem of Judea; for thus it is written by the prophet:

School. — And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Judea, art not the least among the princes of Judea; for out of thee shall come a governor, that shall rule thy people, Israel.

Supt. — Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, inquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

School. — And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, go and search diligently for the young Child; and when ye have found Him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship Him also.

Supt. — When they had heard the King, they departed; and lo, the star which they saw in the East went before them till it came and stood over where the young Child was.

School. — When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

Supt. — And when they were come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary, his mother, and fell down and worshipped him;

School. — And when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Supt. — And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might; the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.

School. — And thou shalt call him name Jesus, for He shall save the people from their sins.

Supt. — Praise the Lord, Oh, my soul; and all that is within me, praise His holy name.

School. — Praise the Lord, O, my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Supt. — Who forgiveth all thy sins, and healeth all thine infirmities;

School. — Who saveth thy life from destruction, and crowneth thee with mercy and loving kindness.

All. — Praise the Lord, O, my soul, and all that is within me praise His holy name.
