Bing's #1 Top Hits. Of Bing’s recordings which hit number 1 on the music charts of the day – the first three of which were recorded in 1931 – only one was a Christmas carol. Recorded in 1942, "White Christmas" was his 27th number 1 hit.

Bing's recording of "White Christmas" was the most successful single recording in the world for more than 55 years. His latest success with the song was in 1998, when 'White Christmas' charted for three consecutive weeks over the festive season in the UK reaching the number 29 spot.

His last big hit was recorded in 1950 -- "Play A Simple Melody," with Gary Crosby. It reached number 2 on the charts.

Christmas is a wonderful, cheerful holiday.  Whether we spend it by a real tree or some Balsam Hill artificial Christmas trees, at the end of the day what matters is that we enjoy our time together with our loved ones.
