Weather - First Look

As a National Weather Service SKYWARN storm spotter, I like to keep a close eye on the weather, especially when severe weather is in the forecast. For those days, I created this "first look" web page that gives me a look at the forecast for today and tomorrow. In addition, I've created several larger web pages for weather including the full-sized “Daily Weather Charts“ and its graphical version, Graphical Weather Forecast (Testing An Updated Design: Graphical Weather Forecast). If I'm pressed for time, I can check the "mini version" and "micro version" of "Daily Weather Charts." The intent is to give me an amateur's "map room" for north Alabama. However, this is not a map room in the conventional sense, since it is not my intent to make a weather forecast. Instead, the purpose of this page is to answer these questions:

Is today a severe weather day?

If so, what, where and when?

Is severe weather within the five day forecast?
