Music Page One / Books / Personal Favorites / Sheet Music / DVDs The Carpenters, Christmas Portrait (1978). Includes their hit "Merry Christmas, Darling" as well as excellent renditions of many Christmas standards. Several of their renditions contain the complete carol -- including introductions rarely performed by others. An outstanding CD. Kenny G, Miracles: The Holiday Album (1994). Another excellent CD from Kenny G is Faith: A Holiday Album (1999). Also released in 2002 is Wishes (Holiday Album)
Bruce Cockburn, Christmas(1993). Christmas with a understated folk flair from the great Canadian artist. An enjoyable listen that is definitely worth the time and investment. Get it while you can; it's been some years since its release and is occasionally out of stock at Amazon.
Harry Connick, Jr., When My Heart Finds Christmas (1993) and Harry For The Holidays (2003). This contemporary crooner is a favorite of many, crossing the generations.
Neil Diamond, The Christmas Album (1992). For those raised in the 60s, the great sound of Neil Diamond is an unforgettable memory. This is his first Christmas album. Also in his distinctive style is The Christmas Album, Vol. 2 (1994).
Dean Martin, Season's Greetings from Dean Martin (1992). Classics from another great crooner. Includes a great rendition of "Baby its Cold Outside." Other seasonal albums include Christmas with the Rat Pack and Winter Romance (not a Christmas album, per se, but contains Christmas music).
Frank Sinatra, The Sinatra Christmas Album (1987).Another crooner heard from -- well. Other favorites include Christmas Songs by Sinatra (1994) and the highly-regarded A Jolly Christmas from Frank Sinatra (1999).
Tony Bennett, Snowfall: The Tony Bennett Christmas... (1968). Never mind the TV take-offs by Martin Short; Tony Bennett has some classic crooner "pipes."
